Life of killifish species
The name of the Killifish Species comes from a Dutch word which means small creek, puddle. As the name suggests, the specie is small in size with an average length ranging from 2.5 cm to around 5 cm. the maximum length of fish belonging to this specie has been known to be just less than 15 cm. Killifish species do not have a long life and they live nit more than 2 to 3 years. The specie is generally found in lakes, streams and rivers. They have been found in good quantities in fresh waters of Americas, Ontario and Argentina. There are about 1270 fish in this category alone, which is a decent number.
