My Take On “Jenkins: Bullet Train to Nowhere”

Nobody has a business plan for a bullet train.

How do I know?

Because you can not write a business plan when you don’t know what energy costs will be, when you don’t have any idea what health costs will be, when you don’t know what next year’s tax laws will be, when you don’t know if a snail or beetle will close one section of your track and when you don’t know what your ozone impact will be.

Sure you can guess…all business plans rely on estimates…but the range of possible outcomes is huge….from 0% to 100%. Flipping a coin is more certain than betting advice on such a business plan.
